The Khongnangthaba University, established as the first private university under the Manipur Private University Act 2021 (Act No-6 of 2021), aims to promote and preserve traditional knowledge—a foundational element of every society’s civilization. It is recognised under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956, and the university is empowered to award degrees under Section 22 of the UGC Act 1956.
